Waste-by-Rail Transfer/Transloading Services

TransLoad America has the capacity to offer transloading services at its own sites for both waste and non-waste commodities, as well as to co-develop rail transload facilities and provide the same transloading services in collaboration with third-party developers, waste services providers or municipalities.

Our capabilities include site design and engineering, equipment procurement and operation, rail car procurement, maintenance and fleet management, and end-to-end transportation and disposal.

Equipment and Materials Handling

TransLoad America has the capability to provide rail cars in sufficient quantity and quality to serve the long-term requirements of its customers and has the internal capacity to manage the logistics (from TransLoad's Florida office) and repair/maintenance requirements of a growing fleet.

TransLoad, in fact, has developed a sophisticated and highly efficient system of C&D loading and unloading, truck-to-rail and rail-to-truck, which will produce a significant cost and savings impact and translates into a strong competitive advantage in pricing per ton-mile for the Company. In addition, TransLoad has acquired a proprietary baling and stretch wrap technology for MSW (TLA-Bale Tech) which allows the Company to transload bales into the same rail cars (gondola cars) that it is using for C&D transport, eliminating the need for a multi-step container-based system. Further, TransLoad has deployed the first of its kind “raised-rail unloader”, which can revolutionize the “over the top” unloading of railcars, and substantially increase the tonnage per hour that TransLoad unloads at its disposal facilities.

Fleet Management/Logistical Support

TransLoad America has a logistics and network operations group in its Jacksonville, FL office that has the skills and resources to manage the logistics of a growing fleet of cars, from multiple locations to multiple destinations.

Our capabilities include negotiating transportation arrangements with the originating and interconnecting railroads, route management and monitoring, and railcar utilization improvements.

Disposal/Conversion/Recycling Facilities

TransLoad has MSW-permitted rail-served landfills in Alabama, Louisiana, Ohio and Utah, and expects to shortly announce ownership of at least two additional rail-served landfills serving the Midwest and Southeast US regions.

TransLoad is intent on diverting as much material from land disposal that can be successfully recycled and/or repurposed. The capability of baling and shrink-wrapping putrescible waste streams – at the company’s origin and destination locations – enhances substantially its ability to recover value from the waste streams being handled. And TransLoad is continually engaged in evaluating, and deploying as practicable, new “conversion” technologies that advance its recovery and conversion program.
